And by "big", I meant MASSIVE.
Recently, I got the chance to help spark the flame of activism in the hearts of a few kids at a little private school in Richmond Hill, as they banded together to inspire the students in their school to BE THE CHANGE during their We Day assembly. :)
There were only, about, a hundred kids, but man, they were powerhouses!
The Ambassadors (the kids) are collecting pennies to build water wells in impoverished communities around the world as part of Free The Children's initiative, We Create Change. Every $25 worth of pennies equals clean drinking water for someone for their entire life! I know, madness!
I was able to speak on behalf of Free The Children at their We Day assembly and gave away a few Artisans products (rings, necklaces, bracelets, buttons, etc) made by members in some of the communities Free The Children work in (Massai Mara, Africa; India, etc).
It was an amazing experience.
There could be a Craig Kielburger in there! haha
