Whenever I need to get pent-up energy out (caused by anything that makes me feel insecure about myself or my abilities - I'll let you ponder the cause), I sing this song.
A young Barbara Streisand sings this in the video above.
I discovered this marvelous piece of work while watching (as cliche as it sounds) Glee. Lea Michelle's character performs this song during... regionals, I believe...
Whatever, she was a fucking machine singing this song.
I didn't even know what the hell she was saying when she was singing.
That said, being the karaoke-crazed (STAR) chica that I am, I found the karaoke version on Youtube.com and killed that bomboclat-rassclat out of it & now, it's a part of me.
I will be singing this until the day I die, and when I die someone will be singing this at my funeral... That sounds kind of creepy.
Nonetheless, here is the karaoke version if you'd like to learn it.
One word of advice: When karaoke-ing, do your best to perform the song rather than sing it (unless you're trying to give yourself an ego-boost with your superb singing skills). You'll have more fun, be more entertaining and will feel the song more, seeing as you're singing the words as though you wrote them.
That is all.
p.s. On the quest to find a suitable karaoke-star name for myself. Not a stage-name, a KARAOKE-STAR name. If you have any suggestions, don't hesitate to let me know!
