FINALLY!

Prepare for LSAT (2yrs in advance) - check.
Get into credible law school (Osgoode!!) - check.
Pass BAR exam - check.
Become a boss lawyer - BIG ASS CHECK.

That's right, ya'll. You heard it here first: I'M GOING TO BE A LAWYER!!!
I've been STRUGGLING over the past 4 years, trying to figure out which career best suits my beliefs, lifestyle and future goals.

I love writing essays!
I love talking!
I love arguing!
I'm overly-righteous (which is perfect for court)!
It's perfect!!!!

Fortunately for me, it was on the bus ride home a couple mornings ago that I realized that "Hey! I should be a fucking lawyer!"
It just hit me! & suddenly, everything was clear.
No doubt in my mind - which is a first.

You're gonna want to know me, bitches, because I'm gonna be the one bailing your asses outta jail! Mmmmhhhhmmm...

Meeting THE president (pt 1)

Oh goshness. I just requested a meet and greet with my school's president...my school's president!!

Why, you ask?

All I can say is this: There was a section I had to fill out that said, topic - as in, what is the topic, or what is the reason for your meet and greet? Instead of typing something more academically charged, I typed the one word that wouldn't cease it's excitable ringing in my head.

*INSPIRATION.

(
hahahahaha)

Okay. I want to be honest. I don't really have much to discuss with THE president, per se, but I'd like to believe that I am fully able to exercise my rights as a student, and that includes spur-of-the-moment appointment bookings to meet with my school's president, damn it!
I may not have a definitive purpose, as of yet, but that's why I was smart enough to book the appointment in late November! Giving myself enough time to come up with something! Not just any something - something grand!

That being said, on - and close to - November 22nd, 2010, I (!!) will be holding my shit, for a lack of better words.

To be continued...

Back To School Wish List 2010

I always say: "There are two points of renewal in every year: New Years, and the beginning of the school year."

Another school year quickly approaches.

That's right, ya'll! I'm only a mere day and a half away from the glorious stress and pressures of living the student life, of which would include the regular over-consumption of caffeinated beverages; gaining at least five stress pounds; being virtually broke throughout the academic year; essentially, living in one of the study cubicles at the library; surviving those dreaded all-night-ers; and the occasional pinch of social anxiety here and there (I haven't even started on OSAP -- I WILL NOT go there. I might smash my computer...).

Would you think I were weird if I said I were LOOKING FORWARD TO ALL OF THAT?!

The correct answer is: YES -- but it wouldn't matter because you probably already think I'm weird!

Aside from the shit-ty (and realistic, I might add) tangible perks to being a student, there are (if you look really hard) positive aspects within our situation.
Let's see... making new friends! Learning! Having something to do! Or... I don't know, feeling like your life has short-term purpose (graduating)! See, lot's of stuff! I mean, given the pound of crap I was served every five minutes this summer, all that student stuff I wrote up there doesn't sound so bad. Heck -- I'm even looking forward to it! I'm as excited as those kids in the picture! Except I'm running to the 196 Express bus!

I just realized that the title says, "Wish list," so I better write one.
THIS is what I'm hoping for in this Fall/Winter academic year:
  1. I'd love an attractive T.A.! He could add to my go-to-fucking-class-kemeny motivation!
  2. Hoping that I'll make more York friends!
  3. Not looking for a boyfriend (boys suck), but someone hot to look at on a regular basis (i.e., TUTORIAL) would be nice.
  4. I need a note-taking buddy in each of my classes.
  5. Get A's in ALL OF MY COURSES!!!!! ALL OF THEEEM!!!
  6. I need to make it through PSYC this year, or I'll smash something...
  7. Maybe become more vocal in my classes?
  8. I thought this list would be more crazy.
Academic year of 2010/2011, here I come!!!!!

Here's to this 'UGGGHHHHH' summer being OOOVEERRRRRR.
